March 2nd: We’ve added onto our guide below to include addons that are confirmed to be working with the Xbox One. This information has come straight from developers and testers of Kodi on the Xbox.
January 14th: The Xbox One Kodi download has RETURNED to the Microsoft Xbox App Store. Now confirmed by the Kodi Foundation as well, the software was removed to fix some bugs and has returned in a slightly more stable (but still considered alpha) state. Amongst some of the improvements our followers have noted:
- Auto dimming fixed
- Enables remote control over network
If you already have the Kodi app installed on your Xbox One, it should auto update. If you didn’t install it last time, go and check it out from the Microsoft App Store today.

The current Xbox One Kodi version available in the app store is version 18 alpha, perhaps a teaser of what is to come from the Kodi development team as Kodi 18 is not officially available for download yet.

Xbox One Kodi Install Guide
- Launch the Xbox One Store on your console.
- In the search box, type in “Kodi” and click the search button.
- Click on the Kodi icon that appears from your search and then click Install.
- After Kodi has installed itself on your Xbox One Console, it will be available to launch in your apps section.
