Q. Add-on X isn’t working, how can I fix it?
A. If the add-on takes streams from a single source (M4U, 123Movies, etc), the source could be down and you’ll have to wait for an update.
If the add-on is multi-source (Exodus, SALTs), there are a number of reasons that it may not work: you haven’t installed it directly from the repo, you are picking an uncommon movie/TV show that has no streams available, or a number of other reasons. We won’t troubleshoot on your behalf without a log (see here) so you’ll have to attach us one or else figure it out yourself by uninstalling and reinstalling the repo and add-on (make sure it’s the right way using our install guides).

Q. How can I fix buffering on Kodi?
A. There is not one way to fix buffering, but there are a number of mandatory items to check off to ensure that it isn’t your internet connection causing the buffering:

• Make sure your Kodi box is hard-wired. Wireless connections get a fraction of the internet speed of the same wired connection.
• Make sure you have at least 5mbps internet speed for streaming movies/TV or 10mbps internet speed for live streaming. This isn’t exact, but are general numbers to help you out.
• Try a different source. For a live event, a stream can easily become overloaded and will buffer no matter what. For movies and TV, different file hosts have different speeds in different countries. For example, openload may be quick in one area, but clicknupload may be fast in another. Find what host works best for you.

Q. Movie X is out in theatres. Where can I stream it on Kodi?
A. Movies aren’t available to stream on the internet until approximately 2 weeks before DVD/Blu-Ray release when the disc gets printed and is available in mass production. Just because one movie leaked early, it does not guarantee the release of any other movie.

Q. I found a new movie on Kodi but it is labeled CAM and is horrible quality. Why?
A. When a new movie comes out, it is often recorded by a camera setup at the theatre and pointed at the screen. These are the first streams to come online and be picked up by Kodi add-ons. These movies are horrible quality and are not worth watching. There is nothing you can do until a proper stream is released. See the question above for an estimate of when that will be.

Q. Where can I find a link to Sports Event X?
A. If you hover over “Kodi Sports” in the main menu, you will see links to the world’s most popular sports. If you are looking for a special one-time PPV or event airing soon, check the main page for recent articles filled with information. You can also use the search back on the home page as well.

Q. I’m looking for a specific video and none of my add-ons have it. How can I find it?
A. Kodi add-ons are essentially just search engines that scrape the internet for streaming links that already exist. All of the popular multi-source add-ons like Exodus, Specto, SALTs, Velocity, and iStream all scrape the same sites (give or take a few) and that’s why they all have similar content. To find obscure videos, there are three choice:

• Find a playlist add-on that has it. These are add-ons such as UK Turk, Phoenix, VidTime, and Evolve where users manually upload all content. Generally selection is less (so you probably won’t find obscure) but reliability is high because these users are manually taking care of their content.
• Use a torrent add-on. Torrents are much more widespread and popular and selection found through a torrent add-on like Quasar should be better than on streaming websites.
• Use a premium Usenet add-on. Usenet is a massive private server database storing all kinds of rare content. Click here to read more.

Q. Is my Kodi connection secure? Can someone find out what I’m streaming?
A. Generally, Kodi streaming is secure and you don’t need to worry. The exception is if you are interested in torrent add-ons, which shares your connection with others while you stream but often has a wider amount of content. Q. I want to watch live TV on Kodi and I want it to be HD with zero buffer or lag.
A. There are a number of live TV add-ons. Here’s an internal google search page with lots of results. As far as HD and buffer-free, HD video takes up bandwidth which means that less users can stream before the server gets overloaded and you will buffer or be kicked out. Be patient and test links out. In a few years we believe that bandwidth will be available for all to stream live content freely but technology is still catching up to Kodi in this regard.

Q. My add-on (Exodus, SALTs, iStream, etc) shows a specific movie/TV show but when I click, it says “no stream available”. How is this possible?
A. These add-ons use back-end websites to list TV Shows and Movies (like imdb.com) so every movie or TV show will be found. When you click on a show, the add-ons scrape the internet for video files that match the name. Sometimes it may not return anything which gives you a “no stream available” message. This is common if you are picking an episode that hasn’t aired yet or a TV show that is old or not popular. If you believe there should be streams available, try a fresh reinstall of the add-on. Q. My Kodi box WAS working fine and now NOTHING works at all.
A. This is hard to diagnose in a short Kodi FAQ document. Uninstall any recent add-ons, builds, or other changes you made. If nothing works at all, you have a corrupted file somewhere and the best thing to do is a fresh reinstall (delete Kodi and reinstall from the App Store on Android).

Oculus Kodi Installation Failed

The Unjudged Kodi Failed to Install Dependency

Recently, users have been reporting issues with installing the Unjudged Kodi addon. We’ve dug into this issue and have determined the problem to be related to Universal Scrapers, a common dependency module that many addons use.

When you receive the “Failed to Install Dependency” Kodi error, follow these steps:

1. From your Kodi main menu, navigate to Settings (cogwheel) > Event Log.
2. If you see the failed addon install and then right below that, a failed Universal Scrapers dependency and a Universal Scrapers installation failed, you have this problem.
   
3. To fix this issue, you must install the Universal Scrapers Repository manually. To do that, click here to install the repository. Move this zip file onto your Kodi box or somewhere Kodi can access it.
4. From your main menu, navigate to System > Add-ons > Add-on Browser > Install From Zip File > Navigate to the zip file you download above and click on it. Wait for the addon enabled notification in Kodi.

It appears that some addons are not correctly importing the Universal Scrapers repository. This is causing failure on installation.

This has led some users and Youtubers to incorrectly assume that the creator of Terrarium has run into legal problems, similar to some Kodi developers recently. The developer has posted the following message on reddit to set the record straight:

As most will know, the official TTV website is currently down, as is downloading from the github pgae. The official statement from our developer is:

“Sorry for the late response. I’m fine. I was not being arrested. I’ve decided to shut down the official website and maybe soon will also shut down the Github repository hosting the apk files in order to avoid any potential legal issues…”

There has been no cease and desist letters, no lawyers at the door, no seizing of the website. Ad free is not involved. It has been purely a precautionary measure.

The Terrarium TV Android app is an APK that you can load onto any Android device such as a phone, tavlet, or TV Box. Is Terrarium TV Legal?

According to the Terrarium TV website, “Terrarium TV uses streaming technology instead of torrenting (P2P). Unless you share or upload videos, you’ll be ok.”.

In their terms and conditions, they state: “In case of copyright infringement, please directly contact the responsible parties or the streaming websites. Terrarium TV operates as a search engine of TV shows and movies content found publicly available on the internet, in principle conducting in the same way as Google. However, Terrarium TV strongly believes in the protection of intellectual property and would be willing to assist when possible and applicable. The videos are streamed directly from the third-party video sharing services.”

How to Install Terrarium APK

Terrarium is not available on the Google Play Store. Instead, it must be manually downloaded and sideloaded onto your device. You can also use Android software that automatically sideloads APKs for you. To install Terrarium, follow these steps:

1. From your Android home screen, navigate to Settings > Security > enable Unknown Sources.
2. Download the Terrarium APK from this link and move it onto your Android TV box.
3. Navigate to the Terrarium APK file you moved onto your box and run the file. HINT: You can download ES File Explorer from the Google Play Store to make navigating file folders easy. You can also run the APK from inside of ES File Explorer.
4. When you launch the APK, select Install. Terrarium will install and then it will appear in your apps section when it is done.

Remove Ads on Terrarium TV 

Ever since the upgrade to v1.9.4 and higher, there has been an increase in the number of ads shown in the Terrarium TV APK. The culprit is the Yes Player extension, which Terrarium TV uses as its default media player. Yes Player throws up an ad when you launch a stream. To fix this issue, you simply have to select the MX Player for playback, which is ad free.

To remove ads on Terrarium TV:

1. Find the title you would like to view in Terrarium. Click on it to bring up the playback window.
2. Click on Play With
3. Select MX Player

Your stream will now launch without any more ads.

If you do not see MX Player in the list, you do not have it installed on your Android device. You can launch the Google Play Store, search for MX Player, and install it from here. It will now appear in your list.

One of the main questions we get from users is whether they will have VPN speed troubles where their internet download speed is slow when they subscribe and connect to a VPN server. With these tips below, you’ll get the best possible VPN connection.

A VPN is a secure traffic tunnel that routes your network traffic through a server located somewhere in the world before getting to its destination. A VPN makes whatever you are accessing think that the intermediate server is your address rather than your actual information. This extra step in routing your traffic will naturally add latency to your connection, but it doesn’t have to slow! Just follow these VPN speed tips:

VPN Speed Tips

1. Use a tier1 VPN service 

A tier 1 communications service can reach any other address on the internet without having to transit or make unnecessary stops on its path. Some VPN providers don’t own their own network of computers (tier 2), which introduces slows your internet down.

Remember, connecting to a VPN is adding at least one more path between you and whatever you are trying to reach on the internet. A tier 1 service minimizes this affect and makes it near negligible. No matter which VPN service you are deciding on, look up their stats for proof of tier 1 reliability. Fake or fly-by-night VPN companies use spoofing addresses and rented hardware around the world and cannot make this claim truthfully.

2. Check your internet speed before and after connecting

You may think a VPN is slowing your connection down, but your internet could be slow on its own. Click here to visit SpeedTest and run a speed test both before and after connecting to your VPN. This will let you understand where the real issue may lie.

Also, note that speed tests on your Android TV box are not the same as on your PC. You may think this because it is the same network, but older Android TV boxes have slower ethernet ports. On the flip side, your PC is most likely performing more internet queries in the background.

3. Change your VPN Server

VPN servers can present you different internet speeds depending on a number of factors, such as:

• Location
• Amount of traffic through it
• Time of day
• Server latency

Try doing a SpeedTest on different server locations. Some VPN providers also have a “Quick Connect” option which automatically calculates your fastest VPN server.

4. Ensure your connection is using hard-wired Ethernet 

An important factor when using Android TV boxes is whether or not you are using hardwired ethernet or not. Wi-fi adds latency rates to your connection that are 10 times or worse compared to hardwired. This latency is extra delay in sending streams to your machine. Always make sure your Kodi hardware is hard-wired. This tip is even better than the VPN speed tips offered here.

The posted internet speed from your service provider is always based on hard-wired internet only. If you are paying for “100 megabyte” internet service, know that this only applies in hard-wired situations and that wi-fi can decrease your speed by 75%!

5. Turn off your local firewall

Try turning off your local firewall and antivirus and see if your speeds increase. Firewalls filter traffic, including VPNs, and may slow down your internet speed.

A lot of internet service providers, especially in the UK, enable strict firewall rules which limit your access to the internet. Sometimes the best VPN speed tip has nothing to do with the VPN service itself. Disable your firewall and try again.

6. Restart your router and device

If all else fails, restart your router and device. Over time, it’s common for your router to slow down like a bottleneck from continuously processing information.

Unplug the power from the back for 30 seconds and then wait for it to boot back up. Try your VPN with a fresh new connection and see if your problems are fixed.

7. Consider Where You Are Connecting Your VPN

The number one spot to connect your VPN is right within your router settings. This will mask all incoming and outbound connections from your network behind the VPN. Your VPN speed should be optimal here as you don’t have to rely on any VPN application and your router is well suited to perform this task.

If you are unable to setup your VPN right at the router, the next best option is to connect right in an app on the device you are using. If you have an Android TV box you want to enable a VPN connection on, it is best to download a native Android TV app and connect behind that. Not all VPN companies have Android TV apps, so this is an important factor to consider.

Likewise, a native Amazon Fire TV will be best for hiding your connection on that device.

8. A Little Speed Slowdown is Okay!

Streaming static media files in Kodi does not require as high of an internet connection as you think. 5mbps is plenty to stream 720p content and 10mbps is more than enough for 1080p content. A little speed slowdown by a VPN is not a bad thing if you have a high internet connection. In most cases, you will not notice a difference.

For live streaming, a 10mbps is still fine for a lower quality stream. If you want to watch full HD, 20mbps is recommended for optimal experience.

Also consider the source you are connecting to. Lots of lag is due to you connecting to slower sources. Free streams often have very limited bandwidth and lag when a high number of users connect to them. These issues are separate to any VPN speed diagnostics and should be taken into consideration.

The first time you launch the Free Live TV Kodi addon, you may be prompted to enable MPEG-DASH in your Youtube Kodi addon.

1. When you get the popup notification about MPEG-DASH, click OK to bring up the Youtube Kodi settings.
2. Scroll down to the MPEG-DASH tab and then click on the Enable option.

You will now be able to choose a channel and stream free live IPTV TV from the addon.

March 30th: We’ve updated over 20 new scrapers to our list below, all from Blamo’s Death Streams addon. Again, BT and Sky are the worst culprits for blocking websites to UK traffic.

Do you live in the UK and are frustrated by no HD streams in popular Kodi addons such as Covenant, Elysium, Specto, and other multi-source addons? Lately on social media, we’ve heard from more followers frustrated by the lack of links in certain Kodi addons. These followers are quick to blame the Kodi addons, but the true fault for blocked Kodi content lies right in your own home network.

Multi-source Kodi addons have built-in scrapers which scan specific websites for media streams. Kodi addons don’t store or host any content themselves and only search public websites on the internet. These addons, such as Covenant, Elysium, Specto, Exodus, and Genesis, all use the same or similar scraper lists.

We’ve done a deep look into blocked Kodi streams by UK internet service providers and the results are surprising.

The United Kingdom is one of the most vigilant countries over media streams it perceives to be illegal. Internet Service Providers have the ability to block or filter websites so that you can’t reach them. This also applies to Kodi addons as well. If Kodi tries to access and scrape a website that is blocked, it immediately moves to the next site in the list and you’ll never receive a response from this blocked Kodi site.

We used the website Blocked.org.uk to manually test every single scraper address in Exodus. The website tests each link from the 9 most popular UK ISPs: AAISP, BT, EE, O2, PlusNet, Sky, TalkTalk, Uno, and Vodafone. We’ve compiled the list of blocked Kodi scrapers in the UK below, but some of the facts are staggering:

• Out of 71 websites tested, 50 sites are inaccessible by at least one ISP.
• BT, the UK’s biggest service provider, could not reach 37 out of 71 scrapers by default.
• Sky, the UK’s second biggest ISP, blocks 36 out of 71 websites by default.
• BT and Sky Kodi users, which make up over 75% of the United Kingdom, are missing out on over half the possible streaming links they could be seeing.
• Only 21 out of 71 scrapers have absolutely no blocked Kodi restrictions from any UK ISP. Many of these websites are less popular, newer, or smaller in the content they provide verses ones that are blocked.
• We queried a popular title in Covenant and found that out of 342 links returned, the most popular site giving content was Onseries, followed by Primewire, Dayt, and MoviesHD. Using the table below, 75% of UK Kodi users are not even seeing Onseries by default. Sky users are not seeing ANY of these links.

Kodi scrapers often go down and require code changes. If you are limited in the content you see already, each scraper that goes down further limits what you see.

So, what can you do to see this blocked Kodi content?

Blocked Kodi Content Access for UK ISPs

1. If you are a Sky user, disable your Shield settings. Sky Shield “protects” your home against the internet according to Sky. In reality, Shield allows Sky to filter out websites it perceives as bad. Click here to read our guide on how to disable Sky Shield. 
2. If you are a BT user, change your BT Parental Controls level down to Light. Like Sky, BT filters out what you see on the internet by default. Click here to read our guide on how to change your BT Parental Controls settings.
3. Hide behind a VPN. A VPN will make your network appear as if it is from another country and another ISP. 4. Switch internet service providers. This may not be possible for many users, but AAISP and EE did not give us any blocked Kodi content in our testing below.

Note that this fix is supplemental to other basic tips about streaming on Kodi. To ensure that you maximize your chances of finding information, make sure that:

• You have the latest version of Kodi (and at minimum, Kodi 17+)
• You have the latest version of your addon
• You have the latest version of URLResolver, NaN Scrapers, or whatever other backend dependencies your addons use
• You manually installed each addon yourself. Installing builds increases the chances your addons are installed incorrectly and are causing blocked Kodi content.
• The content you are searching for is available on the internet. The older the content, the more chance it is obsolete.

The Nemesis Kodi addon is a well-rounded playlist addon for Kodi. It is the evolution of the old Stream Army addon and is located in the Stream Army repository.

The Nemesis Kodi addon is a playlist Kodi addon focusing in on every area of content. It has four main content aggregators: @Nemzzy668, @_MANC_, @LordJD927, and @KMadMan_.

Nemesis replaced the Stream Army addon, which was discontinued following the release of Nemesis. A lot of careful planning and organization has gone into this addon and as you’ll see by our overview of the sections below, there is a giant amount of content sorted into this addon.

The Nemesis Kodi addon can be found in the Stream Army Repository.

Recent changes include news that the addon now uses the new ResolveURL Dependency to resolve links which should improve reliability. Also, a 4K Movies area has been added and more reliable acestream channels to the live TV section.

Note that this addon uses acestream links for live IPTV streams. If you aren’t familiar Acestreams are torrent based live streams where you share your connection with others while your stream plays. They are more reliable than traditional links because more users means a better stream because everyone shoulders the load. Make sure you have your VPN enabled when using acestream links.

Previously, the M4U movies section had been fixed. Unlike the Openload area, these files require no pairing to play and are always in the best quality currently available. Note that Nemesis does not host any of the files, they are pulled from the public internet.

Nemesis PIN System

The Nemesis Kodi addon uses a PIN system to grant access for users. New as of v2.0.2, you can now open the pin page from within the addon, which should make it easier to use.

For those that aren’t familiar with the Pin system, it requires you to visit Nemesis’ website on the internet to get a pin which is required to be entered before you access the addon. This process is similar to the Openload pairing task that is required before using that file host.

If you don’t want to use the pin system, you can’t use the addon. Viewing the website for a pin helps give the development team ad revenue which can be used to pay for server costs.

The addon has no options to configure, so you don’t have to worry about configuring anything in the addon before it is setup and ready to use.

Upon launching the Nemesis Kodi addon, the top header shows how many users have opened the addon since launch.

As well, there is a Favourites and Downloads section, showing you content which you have favourites or downloaded to your Kodi box.

• The dependency does not exist at the address anymore.
